Blowing an Account with 5% Risk

Consider a $10,000 account exposed to 15 consecutive losses using fixed-percentage risk. At 5% risk, the account loses more than half its equity after the sequence. Recovering from a 53.7% drawdown requires a gain of roughly 116%. The lesson is not that 15 losses will necessarily occur. It is that risk per trade determines how expensive an adverse sequence becomes.
